Trio Bohémo, September 11

Trio Bohémo
Olympic Valley Chapel, 4-6PM

Tahoe Music Alive proudly presents Trio Bohémo in concert on September 11 at Olympic Valley Chapel, bringing one of today’s most exciting chamber music ensembles to North Lake Tahoe.

Comprised of Matouš Pěruška (violin), Kristina Vocetková (cello), and Jan Vojtek (piano), Trio Bohémo has swiftly emerged as a powerful new voice on the international classical music scene. In just five years, the ensemble has amassed an extraordinary list of accolades, including First Prize and the Audience Prize at the International Joseph Haydn Competition in Vienna, top honors at the International Parkhouse Award in London, and the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria. Additional prizes from major competitions in Australia and Germany, along with being named Ensemble of the Year 2021 by Italy’s Le Dimore del Quartetto and receiving a prestigious award from the Czech Chamber Music Society, underscore the trio’s meteoric rise.

Trio Bohémo’s artistry has taken them to some of the world’s most respected stages. Recent debuts include the Vienna Musikverein, Wigmore Hall in London, and Stoller Hall in Manchester, as well as appearances at leading festivals such as the Prague Spring Festival, Schwarzwald Musikfestival, and Festival van Vlaanderen in Ghent. The trio has also been featured multiple times on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune, introducing their vibrant sound to audiences across Europe and beyond.

In 2024, Trio Bohémo released their debut recording on the Supraphon label, featuring works by Smetana and Schubert. The album was met with exceptional critical acclaim: The Guardian named it “Classical Album of the Week,” praising the performances as “utterly convincing,” while BBC Music Magazine awarded it five stars, calling the Smetana interpretation an “extraordinary standout.” The recording went on to win Debut Album of the Year at the 2024 Presto Music Awards, firmly establishing the trio as a major presence in the recording world.

The ensemble’s international touring schedule reflects its growing global demand. During the 2024–2025 season, Trio Bohémo toured extensively throughout Australia, Europe, and the United States, appearing at venues and festivals including Rockport Festival (MA), Vilar Performing Arts Center (CO), and leading chamber music series in California and beyond. Upcoming engagements in the 2025–2026 season include a New York City debut, performances across Canada and the U.S., and major European appearances where the trio has been invited to serve as Ensemble in Residence at Austria’s ISA Festival.

Formed through rigorous training at the European Chamber Music Academy, Trio Bohémo combines youthful energy with remarkable depth, refinement, and unity. Their performance at Olympic Valley Chapel promises an evening of expressive power, technical brilliance, and intimate musical conversation—an unmissable event for chamber music lovers.
